swepro presents the new generation of air guns

01.03.2017

The full name of the new air gun in the swepro Group product series is Silvent 767-L-H-1000. Its design combines efficiency and work safety in a user-friendly fashion. An innovative nozzle contributes to this, covering two aspects at the same time: For one thing, an extremely focussed air jet reduces the risk of life-threatening injuries, and secondly a huge noise reduction brought about by the use of the nozzle allows for working that is safer for the worker’s hearing. Individually applicable extension tubes of the air gun additionally contribute to a healthier working posture. A non-slip grip and the option to choose between the hand and thumb dosing lever top off the concept of the new air gun.

New nozzle averts the greatest hazard of working with compressed air

Since working with compressed air generates an air jet with extremely high pressure and high speed, particular care must be taken when carrying out these tasks in order to prevent injuries. The nozzle of the Silvent 767-L air gun even prevents one of the greatest hazards when handling compressed air: the generation of air embolism where air for instance enters the vein structures through a wound. The air that has entered the body in this way can be moved on to the heart or brain. This often causes symptoms that are similar to a heart attack or stroke, in some cases even resulting in death. The air jet of the innovative nozzle, however, is so focussed that there is only minimal diffusion. This minimizes the risk of air that may enter the bloodstream.

Almost 80% less noise at an increased performance

Furthermore, the consistent reduction of turbulences during the discharge of compressed air from the nozzle opening produces a considerable noise reduction. Compared to the use of an open tube of a corresponding size, the new air gun designed by the swepro Group is quieter by nearly 80 percent. The air gun is still as powerful as ever ‒ and even more so. With a blowing force of 20.0 Newton, the new gun nearly exceeds the blowing force of common air guns by seven times. With the substantially reduced risk of air embolism and the increased ear protection, the air gun meets both the OSHA and SUVA requirements and therefore offers a particularly high degree of work safety.

Individually tailored to the application requirements

The point of paramount importance in the design process of the new air gun was the optimization for applications and users. Potential fields of application of the Silvent 767-L can for instance involve cleaning the casting moulds in casting houses or removing paper residues after a paper cut in the paper industry. The use of different extension tubes available, which are mounted between the gun grip and the nozzle, makes it possible to adapt the air gun optimally to the application requirements. The intermediate tubes that can be used, ranging from longer to shorter ones, sustainably prevent postural defects. These defects are for instance caused when the operator constantly bends over the components to be blown clear, and they especially strain the lower back. The choice between an ergonomically shaped thumb dosing lever and a hand dosing lever together with the non-slip grip makes it possible for the operator to control the air gun optimally and safely.
